DAMAS - Dental Appliance Manufacturers Audit Scheme. We are pleased to announce that following a successful inspection of our quality management procedures by Intertek, S4S (manufacturers and providers of Smilelign) are now included on the DAMAS register.

Technical Director Matt Everatt commented “S4S has always been fully committed to offering a first class service to our clients, both in terms of quality of workmanship (all of our technicians are either fully qualified and GDC registered or working towards registration by attending recognised dental technology training courses) and in terms of customer service”.

S4S had previously been ISO9001 accredited since 2007 but as Neil Bullement Commercial Director at S4S pointed out “Although we were proud to be ISO9001 registered and were one of only a very limited number of companies to achieve 100% compliance on our first surveillance visit, we felt that within dentistry the DAMAS standard is much more widely recognised and relevant to what we are doing”. DAMAS is the Dental Appliance Manufacturers Audit Scheme, it is a quality management system designed specifically for the manufacturers of medical devices. Each registered laboratory is independently assessed annually to ensure compliance with the specification. This is a set of criteria that will guarantee consistency and ensure compliance with the Medical Devices Directive and the Medical Devices Regulations. S4S Dental laboratory was certified by DAMAS in 2011. Developed by the Dental Laboratories Association, DAMAS is designed to bring significant benefits to everyone in the dental chain.
